When you’re nearly 100 pounds overweight and just gave birth to your first child, the prospect of weight loss can be daunting. For me, I had iron-hard determination to make a change. As you can imagine, being that overweight was incredibly uncomfortable.

So take a peek at my five-ish minute vlog on how I lost 90 pounds as a busy, new mom! If you want more info, this vlog goes hand-in-hand with my blog entry here! By popular request, here is the link to check out Warrior Mom Fitness by Whitney and also Sharny and Julius, who helped me get below that evil plateau!

This is a topic that impacts a lot of people and I’m happy to share my experience to help others! I’d love to hear any questions or requests you have!

  • I found this a very unique way to share how you lost weight, but I found your YouTube video very interesting and I enjoyed watching your video and learning how you accomplished this.

  • Very inspiring video. Did you have to count the amount of carbs in a day you ate in order to get past the plateau? I honestly hate counting anything. I’m hoping I can see a difference by just make it a point to eat a lot of veggies and be active. 🙂
    Thanks for the video.

    • Hey Regina! As a mom of 4 kids, I too have ZERO time for counting stuff. So I just follow a meal plan and I cycle through eating almost the same thing every week. It takes the guess work out of it completely. Let me know if you want more help. I’ll probably set up a sample meal plan soon. Thanks! Laura

  • Hi Laura,
I haven’t had kids yet – I’m waiting until I finish school and settle down in 1 place but I can imagine it’s tough losing weight after that. I’m very into powerlifting and it can be tough trying to get stronger without putting too much size so I can make my weight class. Bookmarking this for reference 🙂

  • Congratulations on losing so much weight, Laura! Losing nearly 100 pounds in itself, without even figuring in the fact that you’re a new mom, is fantastic! You did all of that while nursing a little bundle of joy? AMAZING! Although I do not have children and actually want to gain weight, so many of my relatives and friends are trying to lose weight right now and would be greatly inspired by this post. I have bookmarked it and am going to share it with my friends and family. God bless you!

  • Very inspiring Laura, you look great and you’ve done an amazing job. You proved that everything possible when we really go for it and look for solutions. I’m in the fitness myself and 6 years ago I decided to change my lifestyle and start exercising. The first month was hell, but after that, I can’t stop and if I’m not working out for a week I just need it. Great and very inspiring video!

  • Congratulations on your willpower and for inspiring others. I’d say that most people might look at their own situation and say that they are not capable of striving that much as you did to accomplish such a great result. Thanks for sharing your inspiring story and your intimacy too. All the best to you and your family!

  • Well done Laura, this is so very inspiring. It is a good reminder that we should all be staying and healthy. Even with health conditions it is important for us to do that. Thank you for sharing.
